Community Inclusion Support Specialist (DSP) (Community Living Support)

Location: Portland, Oregon, USA; in-home and community-based support duties.

Salary: Starting at $21.00 per hour

What you will do

• Provide 1:1 support in individuals' homes and help maintain a safe, healthy environment.
• Provide transportation to community events, hobbies, appointments, shopping trips, and other outings.
• Assist with daily living activities such as cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, budgeting, and establishing routines.
• Provide companionship and personalized care while encouraging independence and self-care.
• Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when needed.
• Periodically assist with personal care and prescribed medications.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are required.
• Personal or professional experience with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities is preferred; front-facing customer service experience and a passion for helping vulnerable populations may also qualify.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems without direct supervision, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to document care, follow support plans, collaborate with internal and external team members, and maintain a professional presentation.
• Must be able to provide references and attend two weeks of paid in-house orientation and training.
