Location: Remote work allowed 100%; Conditions: Washington, D.C.; minimum DoD TS/SCI security clearance eligibility required
Salary: $134,647.86–$234,126.50 annually

What you will do
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain software for complex maritime systems.
- Process and integrate multiple intelligence data sets across software platforms.
- Ensure data integrity and optimize system performance.
- Support reliable information flow across platforms.
- Diagnose and resolve complex software issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customer stakeholders at the Naval Research Laboratory.
Requirements
- Minimum DoD TS/SCI security clearance, or eligibility to obtain it.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field with 10–12 years of software engineering experience; equivalent requirements are 8–10 years with a master’s degree or 5–7 years with a PhD.
- Proven software development experience and proficiency in multiple programming languages, including Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, Ruby, and/or Motif.
- Experience with front-end and back-end development for Linux systems.
- Understanding of software development principles, version control systems such as Git, and issue-tracking tools such as Jira.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of DoD security and compliance regulations, including STIGs.
- Familiarity with the Navy, NRL, intelligence community, multi-intelligence platforms, and maritime operations.
- Experience with database technologies, cloud services such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud Spanner, and data warehousing or ETL.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
