What you will do
- Design mechanical and electro-mechanical systems and subsystems for current and next-generation digital inkjet web press platforms.
- Create 3D and 2D CAD designs and direct external design resources when needed.
- Develop test plans and validate tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, power consumption, and acoustics.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional, multidisciplinary development projects for complex, reliable, cost-effective products.
- Document designs, including bills of materials, drawings, assembly documentation, and Theory of Operations, through manufacturing transfer and product support.
- Collaborate with customers, R&D, operations, manufacturing, procurement, suppliers, management, and outsourced development partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant expertise.
- 4–6 years of mechanical design experience.
- Experience delivering technical solutions across the full design cycle, from concept and prototype through manufacturing and end of life.
- Ability to work across multiple technical disciplines and communicate product architecture and design proposals at management level.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English and availability to work at the Corvallis, Oregon location.
