Automation & Controls Integration Manager (PLC/HMI Controls): Leading the controls engineering team responsible for programming and deploying PLC/HMI-based systems for industrial refrigeration and process cooling projects with an accent on technical execution, client solutions, and project coordination. Focus on developing operating sequences, troubleshooting electrical and control systems on-site and remotely, and supporting commissioning and business development.
Location: Waynesboro, Virginia, USA; on-site role with approximately 10–20% travel for client meetings, commissioning, and support.

What you will do
- Lead the PLC engineering team through task assignment, performance evaluation, and mentorship.
- Program and deploy PLC/HMI-based controls systems and develop operating sequences according to project specifications.
- Coordinate engineering schedules with field and shop requirements to meet critical deadlines.
- Present controls upgrade and facility expansion solutions to clients and support controls-related business development.
- Build long-term client relationships and coordinate project execution strategies with internal departments and executive leadership.
- Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues both on-site and remotely.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Electronics Engineering.
- 5+ years of controls engineering experience, including PLC/HMI systems.
- Strong team leadership, mentoring, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in construction or manufacturing environments.
- Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods and occasionally lift or carry items up to 25 pounds.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Industrial refrigeration or HVAC experience, including familiarity with natural refrigerants and sustainability practices.
- Advanced PLC programming and SCADA knowledge.
- Industrial project management experience.
- Automation or project management certifications.
