TL;DR
UX Designer / Researcher (PeopleSoft HCM): Conducting user research and designing accessible PeopleSoft HCM experiences with an accent on Fluid UI, interaction design, usability testing, and enterprise workflows. Focus on translating user feedback into reusable design patterns, improving complex workflows, and collaborating with developers, analysts, testers, and business stakeholders in Agile/SAFe delivery.
Location: On-site five days a week in Arlington, Virginia, United States. Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret security clearance.
Salary: $73,400–$136,300 per year.

What you will do
- Plan and conduct interviews, contextual inquiries, observations, usability testing, surveys, and task analysis.
- Translate research findings into personas, journey maps, task flows, usability findings, and prioritized design opportunities.
- Design and improve PeopleSoft HCM experiences using Fluid UI, including homepages, tiles, navigation, responsive pages, forms, dashboards, and end-to-end workflows.
- Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, interaction specifications, and other design artifacts.
- Collaborate with developers, functional analysts, product owners, testers, and business stakeholders to refine and implement feasible designs.
- Establish UX standards and reusable patterns while improving accessibility, usability, efficiency, and consistency across PeopleSoft HCM.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance are required.
- Bachelor’s degree in HCI, UX Design, Human Factors, Psychology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Design, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in UX design, user research, interaction design, or human-centered design for enterprise applications or complex digital products.
- Experience with interviews, observation, usability testing, task analysis, research synthesis, and communicating actionable findings.
- Strong interaction design skills, including personas, journey maps, task flows, wireframes, prototypes, mockups, and design specifications.
- Experience with UX and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Axure, or comparable tools, plus strong communication and facilitation skills.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft HCM, PeopleSoft Fluid UI, PeopleTools, enterprise workflows, and packaged-application constraints.
- Knowledge of Section 508, WCAG, keyboard navigation, screen readers, readability, accessibility testing, and inclusive design.
- Experience using analytics, help desk data, and support trends to identify usability problems and measure improvements.
- Experience establishing UX governance, research repositories, reusable patterns, and design standards across multiple teams.
- Experience with Agile, SAFe, ADO, federal or DoD systems, or secured enterprise environments.
