Accounts Payable Specialist I

Location: St Paul, Minnesota, United States; office-based role

Salary: $18.85–$24.49 per hour

What you will do

• Process procure-to-pay invoices across vendor segments and invoice types while following SOX controls.
• Prioritize transaction processing and maintain a high level of efficiency and accuracy.
• Build effective relationships with branches, internal teams, customers, and vendors through phone and written communication.
• Complete monthly vendor statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies with vendors.
• Participate in and occasionally lead remote meetings with vendors and internal teams.
• Suggest process improvements and provide analytical support to Accounts Payable leadership.

Requirements

• Associate degree or higher in general business or accounting, or at least two years of recent accounts payable transactional processing experience.
• Strong organization, planning, multitasking, judgment, decision-making, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Ability to communicate accurately with coworkers, customers, and vendors in person, by phone, and in writing.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft 365, SAP ECC, Microsoft Outlook, and Excel.
• Knowledge of Excel VLOOKUP and PivotTable functions.
• Experience with two-way and three-way invoice matching.
