Drilling Engineer (Petroleum Engineering): Leading exploratory, solution-mining, geothermal, and disposal-well projects from proposal development through execution with an accent on well design, drilling programs, cost estimation, and field oversight. Focus on designing casing, tubular, mud, cementing, testing, and completion programs while managing project risks, budgets, contractors, and compliance.
Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Full-time role with approximately 10% travel required.

What you will do
- Manage drilling projects from proposal development and planning through execution, while meeting schedule and budget objectives.
- Lead engineering and consulting work for exploratory drilling, solution-mining, geothermal, and disposal wells.
- Develop well designs and drilling programs covering casing and tubulars, drilling fluids, cementing, well testing, and completions.
- Prepare AFE documents, cost estimates, budget approvals, and project schedules.
- Coordinate with drilling contractors, service providers, clients, and multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Oversee field operations, monitor performance and risks, and implement solutions that support safe, efficient, and compliant delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum, geological, or mining engineering.
- At least 5 years of drilling engineering experience.
- Strong experience in well design and drilling program development and execution.
- Experience with AFE preparation, cost tracking, financial accountability, and procurement services.
- Professional license or ability to obtain one; valid driver's license required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to work independently, prioritize demands, and meet deadlines.

- Experience with completions engineering and design.
- Strong client relationships and ability to support business development efforts.
