Software Engineer II, Enterprise Applications (Aerospace): Building and supporting full-stack web applications, backend services, APIs, and data pipelines for systems used to design and build human-rated space stations with an accent on scalable architecture, production delivery, and enterprise application development. Focus on integrating frontend technologies with APIs and microservices, modeling relational data, resolving performance issues, and supporting production software throughout its lifecycle.
Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite. U.S. export-control eligibility is required: U.S. person status or eligibility for deemed export licensing.
Salary: $135,000–$192,500 USD per year in California.

What you will do
- Design, develop, test, ship, and maintain web applications using modern frontend technologies, application servers, APIs, and microservices.
- Contribute to backend services, data models, APIs, and supporting pipelines.
- Support the full software development lifecycle from design through production.
- Translate requirements into scalable technical solutions with engineering and cross-functional partners.
- Improve existing tooling and develop new applications as the organization grows.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, defect resolution, performance improvements, and production incident response.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of software development or relevant industry experience.
- Production experience designing, building, shipping, and supporting software applications or features.
- Experience contributing to full-stack applications through frontend and/or backend development.
- Familiarity with testing, version control, code review, debugging, and software engineering best practices.
- Must meet U.S. export-control requirements through U.S. person status or eligibility for deemed export licensing.
Nice to have
- Experience with complex or evolving technical problems and distributed systems.
- API development or consumption, relational databases, and data modeling.
- Experience with React, Vue, GraphQL, Node, OAuth, Terraform, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment.
