TL;DR
Public Relations Lead, Association & Membership (Golf) (Media Relations/Strategic Communications): Promoting the visibility of PGA Golf Professionals and Association initiatives through media relations, press materials, executive communications, and coordinated outreach with an accent on multi-audience writing, editorial consistency, and media relationship development. Focus on managing PR calendars and reporting, coordinating interviews and speaking opportunities, and aligning communications across internal teams, PGA Sections, agencies, and digital channels.
Location: Frisco, TX, United States. Ability to travel up to 5%.

What you will do
- Promote the visibility of more than 30,000 PGA Golf Professionals and key Association initiatives.
- Write, edit, and proofread press releases, media pitches, scripts, executive talking points, Q&A documents, and long-form communications.
- Build relationships with local, regional, national, diverse, traditional, new, and non-traditional media outlets.
- Coordinate with Membership, Governance, Career Services, Education, PGA Sections, the REACH Foundation, Digital, and Marketing teams to identify stories and distribute content.
- Manage editorial calendars, media kits, fact sheets, interview tracking, media monitoring, and PR hub coordination.
- Collaborate with PR agencies on strategic planning, media coverage reporting, leadership reports, and communications metrics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Public Relations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Five years of experience in public relations, journalism, or corporate communications.
- Portfolio demonstrating published writing experience.
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, grammar, clarity, and Associated Press style skills, with experience writing for multiple formats and audiences.
- Experience building relationships with reporters and editors, managing multiple assignments and deadlines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Google Docs; basic fluency with artificial intelligence tools and concepts.
