Service Operations Tax and Accounting Manager

What you will do

• Manage complex-tier member accounts, bridging financial background with tax optimization strategies.
• Lead and mentor a team of bookkeepers and tax staff to ensure continuous growth and high-quality delivery.
• Review federal and state tax returns (1040, 1120-S, 1065) and year-round financial activity.
• Serve as the in-house technical expert for complex scenarios like multi-state apportionment, nexus, and K-1 flow-through.
• Develop playbooks and training modules to scale service delivery and handle increasing complexity.
• Handle escalations for members with complex financial situations such as rental property income or multi-state exposure.

Requirements

• Active CPA, EA, or JD in state of residency.
• 5+ years of experience scaling and bridging bookkeeping and tax operations.
• Technical proficiency in complex books and tax preparation, including multi-jurisdictional compliance.
• Hands-on experience managing high-volume workflows and large client portfolios.
• Must be based in the U.S.

Location: Must be based in the U.S. (Bay Area-based employees follow a hybrid schedule).

Salary: $140,000 – $180,000
