What you will do
- Investigate suspected fraud and other illegal activities affecting the company.
- Interview parties, take statements, conduct database inquiries, and locate witnesses and other information sources.
- Evaluate the credibility of information and evidence collected during investigations.
- Refer and coordinate assignments with outside investigative agencies.
- Provide training and support to departments involved in the claims-handling process.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field, or qualifying investigative experience.
- At least 3 years of insurance claims investigative or law-enforcement investigation experience, or 5 years of professional investigation experience involving economic or insurance matters.
- Experience handling in-person or phone statements, gathering evidence, drawing conclusions, and managing investigative workloads.
- Ability to document case files clearly and professionally and learn substantial technical and procedural information.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain required certifications and permits.
- Must live in Tucson, Arizona, or the surrounding commutable area. Physical duties include lifting equipment and climbing around, under, and inside vehicles.
Nice to have
- Four-year degree or higher and current or prior SIU investigation experience.
- Experience with financial, casualty, bodily injury, workers’ compensation, commercial, marine, auto, property, or underwriting fraud investigations.
- Experience handling complex fraud cases or fraud rings.
- Knowledge of public-record systems and claims and policy databases.
- Professional designations such as CIFI, CFE, FCLA, or CPCU.
