Security Operations Manager

Location: Naperville, Illinois, United States; hybrid work with in-person presence Tuesday through Thursday and remote work available Monday and Friday as business needs allow. Limited travel to company and third-party locations within the US may be required.

Salary: $129,910–$190,454 per year

What you will do

• Own day-to-day security operations, alert triage, escalation paths, incident response coordination, and internal SOC operating rhythms.
• Manage EDR/XDR, SIEM, email security, vulnerability management, and co-managed MDR/MSSP partnerships.
• Operate vulnerability scanning across infrastructure, endpoints, networks, and external attack surfaces.
• Lead threat and vulnerability response, including exposure assessment, containment, and coordination of urgent remediation.
• Develop security procedures, reporting cadences, metrics, and scalable operating processes.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop security staff while collaborating with IT, Security Engineering, vendors, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 8 years of progressive information security experience, including at least 3 years in a lead or management capacity.
• Experience building or maturing security functions in a regulated or multi-entity environment.
• Hands-on experience with incident response, detection engineering, log and endpoint telemetry, vulnerability management, and IAM concepts.
• Experience managing MDR or MSSP partnerships and holding service providers accountable for coverage and outcomes.
• Relevant certification such as CISSP, CISM, GCIH, or GCIA, or equivalent experience; certification may be obtained within 12 months.

• Experience supporting audits or certification programs.
• Experience building vendor or third-party risk management processes.
• Experience mentoring or managing security staff.
• Awareness of security risks related to AI and agentic tool adoption.
