Hardware Engineer (Electric Power Systems)

What you will do

• Analyze, design, and develop conventional analog and digital circuits.
• Conduct moderate to complex design reviews focused on product and circuit robustness.
• Develop hardware and system-level specifications.
• Write and analyze test plans, execute tests, and evaluate results for design reviews and project documentation.
• Prepare and maintain data sheets, instruction manuals, project notebooks, and design and test documentation.
• Manage or lead moderately complex hardware projects while coordinating engineering activities with purchasing and manufacturing; mentor associate engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• United States citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Typically 2+ years of combined experience in at least two areas: analog circuit design, digital design with microprocessors or FPGAs, power supply design, and PCB layout.
• Working knowledge of project management processes and procedures.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills, plus the ability to learn new skills and work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Satisfactory background check and negative drug test results are required.

Nice to have

• Hands-on prototyping experience.
• Knowledge of industrial controls, voltage and current measurement techniques, mixed-signal electronics design, three-phase and electric power systems, or electric utility telecommunications.
• Leadership experience or training.
