What you will do

  • Purchase materials and services according to purchasing procedures and internal controls.
  • Solicit quotations and negotiate service contracts, prices, terms, delivery, quality, and service with vendors.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on price, quality, availability, reliability, and material selection.
  • Coordinate with internal employees and coworkers to confirm material and service requirements.
  • Maintain current knowledge of purchasing policies, procedures, contracts, purchase orders, vendor confidentiality, materials, and supply sources.
  • Apply analysis, problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritization skills in daily purchasing activities.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Business or a related field, plus at least one year of purchasing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Purchasing department experience in a Four-Diamond or higher hotel or casino property.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, prioritization, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Stratton Warren software.
  • Food and beverage purchasing experience exceeding $50 million annually.
  • Multi-property, high-volume buying experience.
