Scenic Arts Craftsperson, Sr.

Location: Busch Gardens Williamsburg, United States; onsite park and venue work required

What you will do

• Paint and prepare scenic elements, sets, props, and related event materials from approved designs.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair scenic elements, properties, equipment, hardware, and venues.
• Support park-wide special events with scenic setup and strike activities.
• Perform warehouse preparation, maintenance, and behind-the-scenes duties for entertainment shows and events.
• Communicate operational, schedule, and show changes with fellow technicians while working as part of a team.
• Maintain guest, personal, performer, animal, cleanliness, and workplace safety standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years old for safety-critical positions.
• Ability to work at heights, lift 50 pounds or more, work around water, and stand or walk for long periods in extreme weather.
• Availability for weekdays, weekends, evenings, holidays, and flexible seasonal schedules.
• Basic knowledge of theatrical, artistic, and production painting, fiberglass, specialty coatings, and basic theatrical rigging.
• Ability to obtain a driver’s license and pass the company test required to operate company vehicles.

Nice to have

• Two years of professional experience as a scenic builder, scenic painter, or equivalent.
• Experience with mold making, sculpting, sanders, fiberglass resins, foam coat, airless sprayers, and compressors.
• Experience operating and maintaining multiple venues in a seasonal environment.
