Senior Analytics Platform Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Remote - United States; onsite interviews may be required. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $104,100–$130,150 base salary annually, with some roles eligible for bonus and/or equity programs.

What you will do

• Lead the technical architecture and infrastructure deployment of a governed semantic and metrics layer.
• Administer Atlan data governance infrastructure, including crawl schedules, AI-driven enrichment, data access policies, PII classification, and compliance controls.
• Operate a self-service analytics platform, managing licensing, connections, security, and version upgrades.
• Optimize Amazon Redshift performance through query tuning, pre-aggregation, warehouse configuration, and execution-plan analysis.
• Own platform health through monitoring, observability alerting, uptime tracking, and compute and licensing cost management.
• Provide infrastructure leadership for tool migrations and evaluations of semantic and BI technologies.

Requirements

• Five or more years of data engineering or platform engineering experience with ownership of production data infrastructure.
• Deep hands-on Amazon Redshift performance optimization experience, including distribution and sort keys, compression encoding, WLM, concurrency scaling or Serverless, materialized views, result caching, and execution plans.
• Experience administering a data catalog or governance platform such as Atlan, Collibra, Alation, or DataHub.
• Experience administering an enterprise BI or self-service analytics platform, including licensing, security models, workspaces, and connections.
• Strong knowledge of API design, authentication, authorization, row-level security, observability, SQL, and programming in Python, Scala, or Java.
• Experience with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI.

Nice to have

• Ownership of three or more platform categories, such as catalog, semantic layer, BI platform, and warehouse performance.
• Infrastructure-side experience supporting a BI platform migration.
• Experience optimizing cloud data warehouse costs at scale or working with Cube.dev, Omni, or a comparable semantic layer product.
