Industrial Designer (Retail Displays)

Location: Beaverton, Oregon, United States; onsite in the Portland area. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Annual salary: $80,000–$95,000.

What you will do

• Develop concepts for retail displays, branded environments, exhibits, fixtures, experiential marketing solutions, and custom products.
• Translate sketches into production-ready SolidWorks models, drawings, renderings, presentations, and documentation.
• Lead prototypes from concept through fabrication, testing, refinement, and production release.
• Balance aesthetics, user experience, structural integrity, manufacturability, cost, and installation requirements.
• Design for CNC routing, metal fabrication, woodworking, extrusion systems, graphics, printing, sewing, and final assembly.
• Collaborate with Creative, Sales, Manufacturing, Prototyping, and external vendors while managing multiple development projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Design, Product Design, Furniture Design, Environmental Design, or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience developing physical products, retail displays, fixtures, exhibits, furniture, or branded environments.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Experience creating sketches, renderings, presentations, prototypes, and production documentation.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturability.
• Portfolio demonstrating concept development through finished products; strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in experiential marketing, retail displays, trade shows, museum exhibits, architectural products, or branded environments.
• Experience with KeyShot, SketchUp, Rhino, or other visualization software.
• Knowledge of wood, metal, plastics, composites, graphics, fabrics, laminates, and packaging.
• Experience with rapid prototyping and 3D printing.
