TL;DR
LDAR Field Project Manager (LDAR/Oil and Gas): Leading field teams and managing day-to-day LDAR compliance, safety programs, monitoring equipment checks, and field reporting with an accent on environmental compliance, instrumentation, and site safety. Focus on leading safety trainings, maintaining technical equipment and PPE, reviewing calibration and detection tests, and coordinating field response across Joliet-area facilities.

Location: Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA; based out of Joliet, Illinois and surrounding areas. Onsite field work with 12-hour day shifts, outdoor work in all weather, occasional work at heights, and possible standby/on-call duty requiring response to the facility within one hour.

Salary: $28–$32 per hour, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

What you will do

  • Lead field teams and manage day-to-day LDAR and safety compliance activities.
  • Lead weekly safety toolbox talks and participate in or lead career-development training.
  • Maintain required PPE, supplies, equipment, site safety certifications, and field personnel requirements.
  • Manage, perform, and review monitoring instrument calibration, precision, response-time, and drift-check documentation.
  • Prepare required field reports and support field operations.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.

Requirements

  • Experience in the oil and gas industry; natural gas processing or transmission facility experience is preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of LDAR hardware and tools.
  • Effective computer skills, including Excel and Microsoft Office, plus proficiency with Android OS.
  • Ability to lead a team, work 12-hour day shifts, hold a valid driver's license, and lift 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to work outdoors, climb ladders and stairs, handle technical equipment for extended periods, and occasionally work safely at heights.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and respirator fit test.

Nice to have

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering technology or another applicable technical discipline.
  • Related experience in hydrocarbon detection and measurement, LDAR, instrumentation, stack emission testing, or mechanical work.
