Senior Digital ASIC Architect (ASIC)

Salary: $82,300–$220,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Lead digital ASIC architecture from conceptual design through implementation, verification, testing, and customer delivery.
• Develop chip-level requirements, architectural descriptions, interface definitions, and detailed design specifications.
• Design and simulate transistor-level circuits and functional models using tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, SystemVerilog, and SystemC.
• Perform system-on-chip design trades across analog, digital hardware, and software implementations, optimizing performance, power, and cost.
• Guide physical layout and floor-planning, including simulation with extracted parasitics.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor circuit designers, support verification and test planning, and contribute to proposals and customer presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 5–7 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, 3–5 years with a master’s degree, or 0–2 years with a PhD in ASIC hardware engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in integrated circuit design, semiconductors, and computer architecture.
• Ability to write detailed specifications, manage small technical teams, and solve complex engineering problems.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Must obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cadence or equivalent tools, including Genus, Innovus, Tempus, or Voltus.
• Expertise with SystemVerilog, SV-RNM, Verilog-AMS, and mixed-signal verification.
• Scripting experience for design, implementation, verification, and test-flow automation.
• Experience with top-level chip design and previous tape-outs.
