What you will do
- Culture and differentiate hES and iPS cells according to client and project requirements.
- Isolate and culture primary cells, generate recombinant cell lines, and prepare cell lines for high-throughput screening projects.
- Independently perform and optimize stem cell differentiation in 2D and/or 3D culture systems.
- Apply cellular assay knowledge to troubleshoot technical problems and implement appropriate solutions.
- Complete technical and non-technical laboratory tasks with minimal supervision while meeting agreed deliverables.
- Maintain accurate reporting, follow safe laboratory practices, and share relevant scientific knowledge with the group.
Requirements
- Minimum MSc in Biological Sciences or a related discipline.
- Significant industry experience culturing and differentiating hES and iPS cells.
- Demonstrable experience isolating and culturing primary cells and generating recombinant cell lines for high-throughput screening.
- Outstanding aseptic technique and a deep understanding of stem cell culture methods.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to present complex scientific datasets and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Availability for a 12-month fixed-term contract based at the Cambridge site.
Nice to have
- Experience in drug discovery-focused projects.
- Experience working at a contract research organization or biotechnology company.
- A degree with a stem cell or cell culture focus.
