What you will do
- Set up, program, edit, and operate CNC lathes, mills, drills, and other numerically controlled machinery.
- Machine a variety of materials, including stainless steel, alloy steel, cast iron, brass, and exotic materials.
- Preset and sharpen tools, adjust machine parameters, and follow machining procedures and work instructions.
- Inspect completed work with micrometers, bore gauges, vernier calipers, and other measuring instruments while maintaining .0003-inch tolerances.
- Perform equipment maintenance, report operating issues, maintain clean work areas, and follow safety policies.
- Complete labor and time reports and perform additional production duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous CNC machining experience and at least 3 years of CNC programming and operating experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent, technical school education, and working machinist knowledge or equivalent experience.
- Ability to operate at least two CNC machine tools and read and interpret machine drawings.
- Previous manual machinist experience, mathematical ability, and elementary technical problem-solving skills.
- Day shift preference: Mazak lathe experience. Evening shift preference: Mazak mill experience.
- Detail-oriented, independent, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities efficiently.
