SouthState Securities Staff Accountant (Accounting)

What you will do

• Process bills and transactions accurately while following departmental procedures.
• Maintain accounts, record entries, reconcile books and accounts payable ledgers, and verify vendor statements.
• Investigate discrepancies and ensure all bills and payments are properly posted.
• Support internal audits and regulatory examinations by coordinating requests, documenting responses, and preparing staff for interviews.
• Participate in monthly markdown and best execution reviews.
• Maintain compliance with MSRB, FINRA, SEC, and internal bank policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounts payable principles.
• Ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other departmental software.
• Strong organization, accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to remain composed under pressure.
