Transmission and Utilities Engineer in Training (Water/Wastewater)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; hybrid schedule with up to 40% remote work.

What you will do

• Prepare design calculations, drawings, and specifications for water, wastewater, transmission, and utilities projects.
• Perform engineering analyses with guidance from senior engineers and prepare clear reports of results and conclusions.
• Coordinate drafting personnel, technicians, and engineers on technical project matters.
• Provide data for cost estimates and obtain preliminary equipment costs.
• Track task schedules and budgets, communicate project status, and coordinate next steps with project teams.
• Support project managers or serve as task lead on small projects while contributing to process improvements and innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a relevant field.
• 3+ years of experience involving independent evaluation, selection, and application of standard engineering techniques; a master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Valid EIT certification with progress toward PE licensure.
• Working knowledge of accepted engineering design standards and practices.
• Some familiarity with Civil3D is preferred.
