Damage Prevention Manager - Miami, FL (Telecom)

Location: Remote - Florida; must live within 30 minutes of the Miami, FL metro area. The role manages a regional team, requires travel as needed, on-call or varying shifts, and outdoor work in changing weather and environmental conditions.

Salary: $59,800–$92,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Hire, develop, retain, train, and evaluate Damage Prevention Technicians.
• Manage workload distribution, dispatches, maintenance tasks, and hand-off reporting.
• Oversee accurate and timely utility locating in accordance with state laws.
• Build relationships with construction contractors to prevent cable strikes and infrastructure damage.
• Coordinate with clients, engineers, OSP teams, Finance, locating vendors, and tools-development personnel to prevent outages and recover costs.
• Identify process improvements and develop preventive and predictive practices using root cause analysis.

Requirements

• Must live within 30 minutes of the Miami, FL metro area.
• At least five years of experience in utility locating and field construction tasks.
• At least one year of formal or informal team leadership experience.
• Experience with site development, underground installations, utility locating, and fiber optic cable builds.
• High school diploma or equivalent, plus a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or a similar field, or equivalent work experience.
• Telecom training and OSHA or other safety certifications.
