Content Creator - Red Jacket

Location: San Diego, California; hybrid role at 4575 Viewridge Ave

Salary: $17.75 per hour, commensurate with experience and skill level. Part-time, 10 hours per week.

What you will do

• Create text stories, photos, graphics, breaking news coverage, and social media content about San Diego high school football.
• Identify storylines during games and adapt them for on-air, digital, and social audiences.
• Shoot, produce, direct, and edit games, interviews, comedic clips, highlight montages, and full-game coverage.
• Edit source video into versions optimized for Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook.
• Coordinate with KUSI Content Directors and serve as a liaison to the studio team.
• Follow content guidelines while publishing high-interest stories at scale.

Requirements

• Knowledge of football, pop culture, current events, and social media.
• Experience shooting and editing unscripted web or broadcast content, including games, interviews, montages, and comedic clips.
• Strong writing, storytelling, copy-editing, communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to recognize compelling football storylines and work accurately under intense deadline pressure.
• Availability every Friday night from mid-August through the Silver Pigskin Gala in December.
• Punctuality, willingness to learn quickly, a clean driving record, and HD-quality video equipment for videography applicants.
