Senior Platform Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

What you will do

• Build and operate an internal developer portal as a product with real users, measured adoption, and a roadmap.
• Develop a trusted service catalog with automated ingestion, ownership data, and infrastructure relationships.
• Integrate the portal with AWS accounts, CI/CD systems, secrets management, and internal APIs.
• Build infrastructure provisioning golden paths with networking, security, observability, and compliance guardrails.
• Help other teams create portal-native workflows through documentation, examples, pairing, and code reviews.
• Measure adoption, improve high-frequency workflows, decommission superseded tooling, and make platform capabilities accessible to AI coding agents.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE, including shared services used by multiple teams.
• Strong AWS experience, including IAM, multi-account environments, and EKS, plus Terraform, Kubernetes, and reusable CI/CD pipelines.
• Production software engineering experience in at least one modern programming language, including testing, code review, and operational ownership.
• Experience with an internal developer portal, developer platform, or comparable self-service automation.
• Application development experience with TypeScript and React, or an equivalent modern language and framework.
• Fluent day-to-day use of AI coding assistants and agentic tooling, with clear technical writing and experience working in regulated environments.

Nice to have

• Backstage or Port experience, including catalog modelling, templating, scaffolding, custom actions, or plugin development.
• Experience consolidating internal tools onto a common platform and deprecating legacy systems.
• TechDocs, MkDocs, platform search, PostgreSQL, schema migrations, caching, or identity-provider-based authentication and authorization.
• Contributions to open-source platforms or developer-experience projects.
