Engineer Assistant (Power Systems)

Location: Heanor, United Kingdom; onsite field work at customer locations

What you will do

• Assist qualified engineers with generator and emergency equipment work at customer sites.
• Pull cables and assist with testing as directed.
• Review upcoming work and prepare the required parts, tooling, and equipment.
• Complete site risk assessments, reports, recommendations, expenses, and job updates in Protean.
• Collect parts from the depot, deliver them to sites, and collect or drop off load banks.
• Attend emergency call-outs and support 24/7 on-call coverage in line with the rota.

Requirements

• Ability to work at customer sites and attend emergency call-outs as required.
• Ability to follow ISO procedures, site-specific health and safety rules, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
• Ability to maintain PPE, workwear, tools, vehicles, and working areas in a safe and serviceable condition.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and office contacts and produce accurate factual reports.
• Ability to drive safely and comply with vehicle-load and goods-carriage regulations.
• Availability generally between 08:00 and 16:30, Monday to Friday, plus scheduled on-call coverage.
