What you will do
- Design and develop automated plasma cutting systems, including torches, consumables, gas control, power supply integration, and CNC machine integration.
- Develop product specifications, detailed mechanical designs, cost estimate models, and schedule inputs.
- Lead test process development, analyze results, and assess the mechanical integrity of product designs.
- Present test results and design concepts, assist with prototype construction, and troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams on new product designs.
- Support end users, customers, and field service engineers through product applications, demonstrations, process analysis, and technical training.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in industrial equipment design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an associate degree in Electrical/Mechanical Technology.
- Experience with SolidWorks CAD modeling and industrial product development.
- Proficiency in design for manufacturing principles, product data management, and engineering software.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn and apply plasma cutting processes.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of plasma physics and fluid dynamics.
- Experience with computational fluid dynamics, statistical design of experiments, finite element analysis, or mechanical integrity testing.
- Background in scientific experimentation.
