Learning Specialist-Academic Success, Disability Serv. (Academic Coaching and Disability Services): Providing individualized and group academic coaching, learning plans, assessments, workshops, and testing accommodation proctoring for health science students with an accent on personalized learning strategies, academic success, and disability support. Focus on interpreting learning assessments, developing board and licensure preparation resources, coordinating support services, and tracking student progress.

Academic Success support is provided to students across colleges and departments at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences.
What you will do
- Provide individual and group academic coaching focused on learning strategies and student success.
- Develop personalized learning plans, monitor support strategies, and maintain records of student interactions.
- Administer, score, and interpret learning assessments to inform coaching and academic support.
- Design and facilitate workshops, informational sessions, and board or licensure preparation resources.
- Provide proctoring services for students receiving testing accommodations.
- Coordinate Academic Success operations, tutoring and retention initiatives, scheduling, communications, campus events, and student-service data tracking.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Education, Counseling, Higher Education/Student Affairs, Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences, or a related field; transcript required.
- At least two years of experience in coaching, mentoring, advising, instruction, training, or student support services.
- Experience developing learning resources and facilitating workshops or presentations.
- Strong oral and written communication, organization, planning, prioritization, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of factors affecting student learning, including the needs of non-traditional students, veterans, and students with disabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant technology platforms; occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
