TL;DR

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States; must report to the designated work location. Travel of up to 90% is required, including extended stays at job sites within the designated seniority region.

Salary: Approximately $36.44 per hour; average annual pay is $85,000–$95,000 after 3–5 years of seniority.

What you will do

  • Perform construction, installation, reconditioning, maintenance, repair, inspection, and testing of wayside signal devices.
  • Install underground and overhead cables, including trenching and hand digging.
  • Work around highway grade crossings, signal masts, bridges, ladders, and electrical wiring.
  • Load and unload supplies and operate equipment such as backhoes, trenchers, boom trucks, and directional boring machines.
  • Use power tools, hand tools, meters, computer-based systems, and other signal-maintenance equipment.
  • Respond to on-call assignments, overtime, nights, alternating shifts, weekends, and holidays in a safety-sensitive environment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in the United States without BNSF sponsorship or assistance for employment authorization.
  • Be at least 18 years old by the anticipated start date and hold a valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Be able to travel for extended periods and report to the designated Oklahoma City work location.
  • Read, write, speak, hear, and understand English.
  • Lift up to 60 pounds occasionally and 15–30 pounds frequently; climb ladders, signal poles, and platforms.
  • Work safely on uneven terrain and in hot, cold, rainy, snowy, and sleety conditions while following safety procedures and wearing required personal protective equipment.
