What you will do
- Develop installation manuals, maintenance manuals, troubleshooting procedures, and other technical publications.
- Review technical publications and source materials for accuracy and alignment with current documentation.
- Create technical illustrations, charts, graphs, forms, and other visual aids using digital illustration and CAD tools.
- Maintain detailed records of publication changes and source documentation, and provide metrics to management.
- Train junior personnel in qualified publication-development areas and document completed training.
- Communicate requirements to senior developers and supervisors and participate in meetings to address technical comments and concerns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of task-related experience.
- Working knowledge of MIL-PRF-63002, MIL-PRF-63029, MIL-STD-40051, MIL-HDBK-1222, and MIL-STD-2361 standards.
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, XML software and publishing systems, technical illustration software, and SharePoint.
- Experience with Technical Illustrator, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Designer, IsoDraw, and SolidWorks.
- Ability to interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, engineering drawings, models, and mechanical or electrical CAD files.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government secret security clearance.
Nice to have
- At least 4 years of aviation maintenance experience on rotary-wing or fixed-wing platforms.
- Experience with Arbor Text, Ultra-Edit, or Adobe FrameMaker XML software.
- Experience developing Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals.
