is a manufacturing company operating a regulated industrial site.
What you will do
- Maintain the site's ISO 14001 environmental and ISO 50001 energy management systems.
- Manage environmental and sustainability compliance across UK regulations, permits, emissions, carbon reporting, hazardous waste, and producer responsibility obligations.
- Organize environmental training for employees, new starters, and contractors, including training materials and records.
- Support the internal EHS audit program and maintain relationships with Natural Resources Wales and other relevant parties.
- Oversee waste management activities, contractors, hazardous waste collections, documentation, and approved waste providers.
- Investigate environmental incidents, coordinate improvement projects and site contractors, and maintain environmental assessments and regulatory reporting.
Requirements
- BSc in Environmental Science or BSc/BEng in a relevant engineering discipline.
- IEMA/NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management at minimum AISEP level or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of environmental experience in a manufacturing company.
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 50001, and environmental compliance requirements for manufacturing environments.
- Experience with internal and external environmental audits, including duty of care.
- Strong training, communication, leadership, reporting, regulatory interpretation, and Microsoft Office skills.
Nice to have
- MSc in Environmental Management and full ISEP membership.
- Training in ETS, MCERTS, waste management, Environmental Permitting, or CHPQA.
- CEM certification or equivalent.
- Knowledge of sustainability principles, COMAH, carbon trading mechanisms, and related legislation.
