Pulmonary Function Technician - Per Diem

Location: Onsite at Tufts Medical Center

Pay range: $20.12–$25.15 per hour

What you will do

• Explain pulmonary function test procedures and help patients relax and cooperate.
• Collect relevant diagnostic information from patient records.
• Perform lung volume and flow testing using gas analyzers, spirometers, plethysmographs, and related equipment.
• Draw blood and perform blood gas studies when required.
• Calculate and enter test data for computer analysis and assist with exercise testing.
• Maintain equipment, replenish supplies, perform minor adjustments, and report serious malfunctions.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least six months of relevant clinical experience in a technical, laboratory, or acute care setting.
• Basic knowledge of biological science and medical terminology.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and use pulmonary function testing devices.
• Ability to communicate with and assess patients across different age groups.
