Staff Software Engineer (GenAI Innovation/ Forward Deployed)

Location: Fully remote from a non-hirify.global worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence; role associated with Universal City, California.

Salary: $130,000–$170,000 yearly, bonus eligible.

What you will do

• Research and test emerging AI technologies, converting promising capabilities into measurable business value.
• Build backend services, business logic, data layers, APIs, and application features across UI and service layers.
• Deploy and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases and storage for cloud-based applications.
• Integrate foundation models, agentic AI, RAG patterns, and related ML capabilities into applications.
• Develop automated tests and maintain code quality, reliability, and cross-device and cross-browser compatibility.
• Collaborate across a multidisciplinary, matrixed organization to deliver and troubleshoot scalable solutions.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend or full-stack development experience with a comprehensive portfolio.
• Experience with Python application development, the Python build/test/deployment ecosystem, AWS, database systems, and SQL.
• Understanding of foundation model integration, ML practices, RAG patterns, tooling and instrumentation, and some fine-tuning, deep learning, and training or algorithm concepts.
• Practical experience designing and consuming APIs in frontend projects.
• Ability to independently take an application from idea to delivery and design scalable technical architectures.
• Ability to contribute fully remotely from a non-hirify.global worksite.

Nice to have

• Experience with secured internal networks and complex cloud network environments.
• Familiarity with large language model applications, AI-generated content, and modern LLM development patterns and tooling.
• Experience working in fast-changing technology environments and matrixed organizations.
