Chief Scientist, RF/Microwave Engineering (RF/Microwave)

Location: Syracuse, NY, United States. The role involves occasional travel and work subject to U.S. Department of Defense clearance and export-control requirements.

Salary: $140,537–$247,152 annually, with a potential annual or quarterly company bonus.

What you will do

• Provide the highest-level technical leadership for RF and microwave components, subsystems, assemblies, and systems.
• Define three- to five-year technology roadmaps, investment priorities, program objectives, requirements, standards, and milestones.
• Lead scientific research, mathematical analysis, design, testing, and verification using RF and microwave simulation tools.
• Architect complex, high-performance designs involving passive and active beamforming and integrated microwave assemblies.
• Lead R&D programs, proposal efforts, white papers, trade studies, and strategic technology initiatives.
• Mentor engineering staff and collaborate with design, measurement, business development, manufacturing, quality, suppliers, customers, government sponsors, and academic partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on Electromagnetic Fields.
• At least 20 years of relevant experience in RF/Microwave engineering.
• Expertise in passive and active RF/Microwave engineering, design, measurement, analysis, and complex problem solving.
• Proficiency with state-of-the-art field and circuit simulation tools, including HFSS, Genesys, and ADS.
• Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance when required.
• Access to ITAR-controlled products and technical data is restricted to U.S. Citizens and U.S. Permanent Residents.

• Master’s degree or PhD.
• Issued patents, peer-reviewed publications, and recognition as an RF/Microwave thought leader.
• Experience applying machine learning to advanced engineering analysis.
