Sr Life Underwriting Consultant

Location: Work from home, United States

Salary: $97,000–$120,000 annually, plus potential eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus of 15%.

What you will do

• Review individual life insurance cases and ensure effective risk selection.
• Exercise approval authority up to $5 million–$7.5 million across all tables and ages, and evaluate cases up to $10 million.
• Provide mentoring and consultative support to underwriters and interact with Underwriting, New Business, distribution, and agent groups.
• Present to agent and underwriting groups and challenge decisions professionally when appropriate.
• Identify process improvements and apply Lean techniques.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 8 years of life or health underwriting experience.
• Experience with AWD or a similar system, MS Office, risk assessment, platform operations, and financial analysis.
• Strong verbal and written communication, decision-making, problem-solving, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote virtual environment and meet high productivity expectations.
