What you will do
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography exams according to institutional policies, practice standards, and interpreting physician directives.
- Follow departmental exam protocols and the American Society of Radiologic Technologists’ mammography practice standards and code of ethics.
- Administer ionizing radiation for diagnostic mammography procedures.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities using the APIE model.
- Assist the interpreting physician during diagnostic breast imaging procedures.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an accredited radiological technologist program.
- Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy certification is required.
- ARRT certification in Mammography is required.
- Ability to obtain BLS certification during employment.
- Three to five years of radiologic technologist experience is preferred.
