Senior Narrative Designer (RPG)

Location: Hybrid or onsite in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work requires three days per week in the studio. hirify.global also has a studio in Troy, New York.

Salary: CAD 80,000–110,000 per year.

What you will do

• Own and maintain the overall story for a cooperative action RPG based on a premier fantasy IP.
• Develop and present story proposals and incorporate feedback from the IP holder.
• Create narrative briefs for characters and locations to guide artists and content creators.
• Write scripts and dialogue and help direct regular voice recording sessions.
• Collaborate with marketing to represent the game narrative accurately in promotional materials.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in narrative design and writing, preferably in RPGs or adjacent genres.
• At least one shipped title as a narrative designer.
• Strong script-writing skills.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills for collaborating across disciplines.
• Passion for storytelling and world-building in gameplay-first environments.

Nice to have

• Professional experience in quest design, level design, or other areas of game design.
• Narrative experience in multiplayer games.
• Leadership and mentoring experience.
