Staff Networking/Interoperability Validation Engineer (Switches/NICs/AEC/Transceivers)

Expected base pay: $111,070–$166,400 per annum, plus eligibility for bonus and equity plans.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and execute interoperability test plans for networking products across multi-vendor switches, NICs, cables, transceivers, and customer environments.
• Build and improve automated test frameworks focused on coverage, repeatability, efficiency, and time-to-data.
• Analyze test results, isolate failure modes, and drive root-cause resolution with design and firmware teams.
• Validate PHY-layer behavior, including SerDes link bring-up, PAM4/NRZ signal integrity, FEC performance, and I2C, SPI, and SMI protocol compliance.
• Use LLMs and AI agent workflows for data analysis, anomaly detection, and test automation.
• Document test methodologies and findings while engaging with customers and partners to reflect real-world deployment scenarios.

Requirements

• MS or PhD preferred in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field, with 1–3+ years of experience.
• Experience designing and executing interoperability tests in multi-vendor networking environments using automated frameworks, scripting, and network CLI commands.
• Knowledge of PHY-layer validation, SerDes, PAM4/NRZ signal integrity, FEC, and I2C, SPI, and SMI interfaces.
• Knowledge of Ethernet, IP, BGP, OSPF, spine-leaf and fat-tree data center topologies, OSI layers, and data communication protocols.
• Knowledge of 800G and 1.6T interconnect standards, switching architectures, transceiver and cable specifications, and multi-vendor switch and NIC ecosystems.
