operates a large, active operating-room department providing comprehensive surgical care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other medical personnel.
What you will do
- Assist with moving, positioning, and draping patients for surgery.
- Retract tissue and expose the operative field during procedures.
- Clamp and tie vessels, control bleeding, and keep the operative site dry.
- Help identify and protect anatomical structures that should not be ligated.
- Assist with incision closure, including tying off bleeders, applying sutures, and dressing wounds.
Requirements
- Complete a formal STFA instructional course approved by the Association of Surgical Technologists.
- Have extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Have two or more years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
- Hold CST certification.
- Hold CPR/BLS certification.
