What you will do
- Manage daily earthwork site activities in line with safety, design, budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Direct lead personnel, field crews, and other project staff while addressing performance issues.
- Coordinate workforce, equipment, materials, schedules, and subcontractor activities.
- Conduct job hazard awareness meetings, stretching sessions, toolbox talks, and safety follow-up.
- Maintain daily logs, equipment and material schedules, timecards, and incident documentation.
- Participate in pre-construction and regular site meetings and respond to customer, regulatory, and community inquiries.
Requirements
- Two to five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, policies, reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to communicate clearly with employees, clients, subcontractors, regulators, and business associates.
- Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, iPad, and iPhone.
- Valid driver’s license, satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record, and ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Union affiliation or willingness to join the union is required; the role requires 8–10-hour workdays and occasional weekends.
Nice to have
- OSHA 10-hour certification.
- OSHA 30-hour, HAZWOPER, Excavating Safety Training, Blueprint Training, CPR, or First Aid certifications.
