Mechanical Technician (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Diagnose, maintain, repair, and install manufacturing equipment and plant facilities.
• Perform complex mechanical maintenance work, including mechanical, welding, heating, or piping activities.
• Respond to escalated equipment problems and complete repairs as required.
• Lead in-house maintenance technicians or outside contractors during major plant turnarounds and other special events.
• Work with maintenance supervisors, managers, and planners to identify trends and develop inspection and maintenance schedules.
• Maintain computerized maintenance records and spare-parts inventory, while participating in safety meetings and training.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair.
• Completed and certified vocational, technical, or mechanical apprenticeship training.
• Knowledge of manufacturing machines, tools, and their uses.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and instructions and use shop power tools.
• Clear communication, collaborative teamwork, and flexibility to work changing assignments, off shifts, and after hours when needed.
• Knowledge of mechanical maintenance and repair procedures and methods.
