TL;DR
Operations Project Support Engineer (Manufacturing Project Support): Monitoring active manufacturing projects and coordinating resources, schedules, budgets, risks, and cross-functional issue resolution with an accent on production-process understanding, technical specifications, and project reporting. Focus on forecasting and mitigating risks, analyzing operational data, and leading cross-functional teams to maintain delivery commitments.

Location: Onsite at 6635 Kirkville Road, East Syracuse, NY, United States. Work hours: 7:30 AM–5:00 PM.

Salary: $76,202–$127,003 annually. An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply; alternative shifts may include a shift premium.

What you will do

  • Plan, coordinate, and support assigned manufacturing projects in line with contractual requirements, schedules, and budgets.
  • Monitor project progress through the manufacturing process and track risks, opportunities, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Escalate issues, communicate project status internally, and support corrective actions to protect budget and delivery commitments.
  • Develop and maintain work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Prepare customer status reports and provide project data and explanations to the PMO and customers when required.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with production, engineering, supply chain, finance, and other functional groups to solve problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong written and oral communication, business acumen, decision-making, critical thinking, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to learn technical concepts, read dimensioned drawings, understand written specifications, and analyze complex cause-and-effect relationships in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.
  • Must comply with US export-control requirements, including ITAR, EAR, and OFAC procedures; access to ITAR products and related technical data is restricted to US citizens and US permanent residents.
