Craft Recruiter (Union or Non-Union) (Construction)

Location: Based on-site in New Berlin, Wisconsin, United States; remote work may be available 1–2 days per week after training. Regular local travel and 50%+ regional travel, including occasional overnight stays, are required.

What you will do

• Manage full-cycle recruitment for union and non-union construction craft roles, from job advertising and sourcing through interviews, selection, and offers.
• Recruit drivers, welders, diesel technicians, foremen, superintendents, general superintendents, and other operational roles.
• Partner with field leaders and department managers to define hiring needs, skills, and competencies.
• Build talent pipelines through job boards, trade unions, schools, community organizations, industry associations, and social networks.
• Attend career fairs, networking events, interviews, and conferences, including regional travel near project sites.
• Maintain recruitment records, conduct background and reference checks, verify employment eligibility, and support HR projects, audits, and process improvements.

Requirements

• Three years of full-cycle recruitment experience; construction field experience may substitute for recruitment experience.
• Experience recruiting in partnership with trade unions.
• Working knowledge of applicant tracking systems; Workday experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, or the ability to learn them.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, organization, time-management, confidentiality, and prioritization skills.
• Valid driver’s license, satisfactory motor vehicle record, and availability for Monday–Friday eight-hour workdays with occasional weekend events.
