Location: Hybrid in Thousand Oaks, California; in-person attendance required 2–3 times per week.
Annual salary: $124,295.50–$168,164.50 USD

What you will do
- Lead competitive intelligence gathering for R&D stakeholders and leadership across multiple pipeline assets.
- Develop and present intelligence deliverables for R&D, commercial, legal, and other internal partners.
- Conduct hypothesis-driven primary and secondary research using clinical, scientific, regulatory, financial, and patent sources.
- Build Key Intelligence Topics and Key Intelligence Questions with R&D leads.
- Synthesize findings from scientific and medical conferences into detailed reports and internal briefings.
- Manage competitive intelligence vendors and conduct research with key opinion leaders, clinical investigators, physicians, medical science liaisons, and other relevant sources.
Requirements
- Doctorate degree; or a master’s degree plus 2 years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree plus 4 years; or equivalent experience with an associate’s degree or high school diploma/GED.
- Relevant experience may include competitive intelligence, business development, tech transfer, equity research, consulting, or patent law.
- Ability to generate concise insights from complex scientific data for stakeholders across functions and seniority levels.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical drug discovery and development, clinical trials, FDA and EMA regulation, and commercialization.
- Experience managing multiple projects and working with technical, regulatory, and financial data sources.
- Ability to analyze clinical trials and regulatory considerations and develop competitor launch-timing scenarios across key markets.
Nice to have
- Experience with early pipeline development and assessment in R&D competitive intelligence, business development, equity research, tech transfer, patent law, or a similar field.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional R&D, commercial, medical, and scientific teams to support therapeutic-area strategy.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical forecasting models and competitor-focused assumptions for market share and long-range planning.
