What you will do
- Listen to German audio recordings and compare them with existing transcripts.
- Correct word-level errors, including misspellings, omissions, incorrect words, and misheard phrases.
- Verify and adjust precise timing and alignment of transcript segments.
- Apply detailed style and formatting guidelines consistently.
- Flag unclear, overlapping, or challenging audio segments.
- Maintain quality and consistency while handling Austrian dialect, colloquial speech, filler words, and non-standard language.
Requirements
- Native-level German is required; Austrian German speakers are strongly encouraged.
- Excellent listening skills across accents and registers, including Austrian varieties.
- Strong attention to detail and comfort with word-level accuracy and exact timing.
- Ability to follow structured style, formatting, and quality guidelines precisely.
- Reliability and self-motivation when working independently and asynchronously.
- Comfort using web-based tools and audio playback interfaces.
Nice to have
- Experience as a transcriptionist, court reporter, or stenographer.
- Subtitle editing, closed-captioning, or audio post-production experience.
- Linguistics training or academic German language studies.
- Experience with annotation platforms, data labeling, AI training projects, transcription software, or audio editing tools.
- Experience following structured editorial or quality assurance guidelines.
