Principal Engineer, R&D (MedTech)

Salary: $117,000–$201,250 annually

What you will do

• Lead equipment automation capital projects from business case development and conception through implementation and closure.
• Plan, monitor, and complete large equipment technology projects, including earned value and work-completed tracking.
• Develop equipment requirements, system specifications, qualification protocols, technical instructions, training materials, and technical reports.
• Generate and execute validation and qualification test plans and lead equipment commissioning activities.
• Evaluate and negotiate supplier contracts and monitor vendor support commitments.
• Address equipment application challenges while improving safety, OEE, technical evolution, and reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic, mechanical, computer, software, chemical, or industrial engineering.
• At least 10 years of engineering experience, including at least 10 years delivering automation solutions.
• At least 5 years specifying, debugging, commissioning, and qualifying advanced automation systems.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making.
• Ability to complete projects with minimal guidance, collaborate effectively, and present business cases and project status.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or other regulated industries.
• Experience with machine learning.
