Buyer, Senior (Manufacturing)

Location: Farmingdale, New York, United States; onsite role

Salary: $86,131–$143,551 per year, with a possible annual or quarterly bonus and shift premium for eligible alternative-shift positions.

What you will do

• Process requisitions by selecting suppliers, obtaining and evaluating quotations, negotiating terms, and initiating procurement actions.
• Prepare RFQs and purchase-order data for technically complex commodities.
• Develop source, price, and procurement justifications within delegated authority.
• Develop new supply sources and maintain supplier source files.
• Expedite purchase orders and attend assigned procurement meetings.
• Provide technical and practical purchasing knowledge to Buyers and other personnel.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of related experience and/or equivalent education and training.
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
• Experience working in an MRP environment.
• Knowledge of FAR and ITAR requirements.
• Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
