What you will do

  • Oversee daily site operations for earthwork projects, including workforce, equipment, schedules, budgets, and timelines.
  • Manage lead personnel and field staff, including hiring, training, mentoring, performance reviews, and disciplinary action.
  • Schedule and monitor subcontractors and coordinate project needs with General Superintendents and job-site crews.
  • Maintain safe working conditions through hazard identification, safety meetings, stretching sessions, toolbox topics, and corrective action.
  • Inspect field work and materials for compliance with quality standards, construction plans, specifications, and manufacturer documentation.
  • Maintain daily logs, equipment and material schedules, timecards, and reports covering safety issues, damage, and injuries.

Requirements

  • Two to five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, policies, reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to coordinate project needs and communicate clearly with employees, clients, regulators, and business associates.
  • Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, iPad, and iPhone.
  • Valid driver’s license, satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record, and ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
  • Union affiliation or willingness to join the union is required.

Nice to have

  • OSHA 10-hour certification, which is preferred but not required.
  • OSHA 30-hour, HAZWOPER, Excavating Safety Training, Blueprint Training, CPR, or First Aid certifications.
