What you will do
- Listen to German audio recordings and review corresponding transcripts for accuracy.
- Correct misspellings, missing words, incorrect words, and misheard phrases at word level.
- Verify and adjust precise timing and alignment of transcript segments.
- Apply detailed style and formatting guidelines consistently.
- Flag unclear, overlapping, or otherwise challenging audio segments.
- Handle dialect, colloquial speech, filler words, and non-standard language according to project guidelines.
Requirements
- Native or near-native German proficiency and an excellent ear for spoken German across accents and registers.
- Exceptional attention to detail and comfort with word-level accuracy and exact timing.
- Strong listening skills, patience, and the ability to replay and verify audio carefully.
- Ability to follow detailed style and formatting guidelines precisely and consistently.
- Self-motivation and reliability when working independently and asynchronously.
- Comfort using web-based tools and audio playback interfaces.
Nice to have
- Experience as a transcriptionist, translator, or language quality specialist.
- Background in subtitle editing, closed-captioning, or audio post-production.
- Linguistics training or academic experience in German language studies.
- Experience with annotation platforms, data labeling tools, AI training projects, transcription software, or audio editing tools.
- Experience following structured editorial or quality assurance guidelines.
